What is it? The Concept Sizzler is a one-minute video we'll use to give a small taste of the animated series to companies or networks. This mini-adventure shows Cap facing a giant robot, the Stop-Clops from the Pilot Animatic, only much larger. Our hero draws his flashlight to fire but it fizzles and shorts out. Blinkie fires his LumaLight, and BLAMMO! It's a direct hit. This robot is done for the day! The Captain is feeling good about it, until the giant robot falls on his foot. "Oooh. My foot," he says, smiling and grunting at the same time.
ONE CALM AFTERNOON, Fred Glowbertenters his custodial closet to wipe off his glasses. But suddenly he falls through a trap door and lands in the Laboratory of Light, where Professor Luminous talks him into putting on the light-powered LumaSuit. In a flash, he’s transformed into the fearless, and clueless Captaaaaaaain FlashLight!
He leaps into the SkyLighter and zooms forward. Well, he means to zoom forward, but he actually smashes through the wall and almost collides with the gigantic VacuZoomer, bringing him face to face with dark-doers Low Voltage and Bulbus and their city-freezing Darknetizer.
Will our hero be bright enough to save the darkentized Filament City? Will he master his powerful flashlights, or keep picking the wrong one? And will he really eat Blinkie's last box of doggie snacks?
Join the Captain, Blinkie the LumaDog, the brilliant young Neoni LeLuni, and Professor Luminous in this hilarious and action-packed first junior novel in the new series, The Brilliant Adventures of Captain FlashLight! Available soon as a Kindle e-book on Amazon.com.
As Parker and I work on new one-minute features for TV networks, we decided to come up with a NEW TITLE SEQUENCE. The old title sequence looked like this:
And like this:
It was cool, but we wanted to add some villains, and show the Captain's powerful light. So in the new sequence, only 9 seconds long, he will drop into the scene with Blinkie, then be surrounded by Dark-Doers (not just eyeballs) and then shine, which will reveal the logo. It will look something like this:
So what are we working on now?
Revising the characters one more time.
Making them into moveable figures for animation.
Writing and storyboarding 5 one-minute features.
Completing the new title sequence.
I hope to have all of that done by September. Gulp!
